WISHH March Update 2024
Welcome to our March update! It’s been a busy year so far and we have plenty of good news stories to share, as well as showing how you can help us do more in the first part of 2024!
Would you like to help us bring smiles to children’s faces this Easter? Our Easter Appeal provides craft materials, activities, toys, games, books, distraction and sensory items, and other themed items to help keep children in Hull Hospitals occupied during their stay. To download your fundraising pack, find out more or see how you can help, head to our Easter Event page. We can’t wait to see your egg hunts, bunny hops and Easter bake sales!
We have two fantastic events coming up in April, and by joining you can truly help us achieve more in 2024!
Join us on Saturday 20th April for the messiest and muddiest event in East Yorkshire. Climb, crawl, run and jump your way around the beautiful grounds of Sledmere House. Registration is £25 and all participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of £40 for WISHH. Read all the details on our website or sign up now with Get Caked! Don’t forget to select WISHH as your charity of choice!
On Sunday 28th April, the closed road East Yorkshire Half Marathon and 10k take place in the picturesque and impressive grounds of Burton Constable Hall. WISHH will pay 50% of the entry fee, making places for the Half Marathon £15 and the 10k just £14. We are challenging Half Marathon runners to raise £150 and 10k runners to raise £100, to help us make a difference across Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. Visit our website for registration and details.
This year we have a wonderful array of events for all fitness abilities. On 9th June, the Hull 10k returns with a route circling some of Hull’s most iconic locations. You’ll find the route map, incentives and sign up links on our website. We have limited places available for the infamous Great North Run on 8th September! Read more about the impressive packages we’ll be providing our participants with this year and how you can sign up on our Great North Run event page. On 14th September, #TeamWISHH will be walking the breath-taking Yorkshire Three Peaks in a fully marshalled walk with check points. Finally, why not sign up to the incredible Run Alton Towers in November? With a Kids Race, 5k, 10k and Half Marathon to choose from, there’s something for all the family, and access to the park once you’ve finished! Sign up to Run Alton Towers now. Email us if you’d like to hear more about any of our events.
February was a busy moth for us with some fantastic fundraisers joining us for presentations at Hull Hospitals. Rowland and Lynn presented a £500 cheque to the Cardiology department following three months’ of fundraising at The Middleton Village Charity Coffee Mornings. Neil and his wife, Adele, joined us on Neil’s final day of radiotherapy treatment at the Queen’s Centre. With the help of family and friends, Neil has raised over £1,200 in his birthday fundraiser for the Radiotherapy Unit. Louise donated over £8,000 to the Queen’s Centre and Living With and Beyond Cancer teams, following the success of the ARK Ii, the second Ball Louise has organised to raise funds for the Centre. Rob and Stacey raised over £3000 for the Allam Diabetes Centre and Queen’s Centre with their fundraiser in lieu of wedding gifts. Thank you to each and every one of our supporters.
